This is Farragon Cottage in Strathtummel. It's a single-storey cottage, part of a semi-detached pair on our working farm. The house itself is simple, just one bedroom for two people, but it's quiet and the views are very good. You look straight out over Loch Tummel. We run sheep and beef cattle, so you'll see them around.
Because it's on the ground floor, it's quite straightforward inside. The bathroom is fine, there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, and you've got a washing machine. The kitchen does what you need. There's an enclosed patio area with a bench and a BBQ, and parking right outside.
You're on a farm track, so it's very quiet. The other cottage, Tummel, is attached if you're booking as a group of four. We're happy for you to bring one well-behaved dog.
For fishing, you have about a mile of the loch shore and access to two smaller private lochs on the estate. You'll see plenty of wildlife around, birds mostly.
Pitlochry is about a 20 minute drive. It's a proper town with shops, places to eat, and a couple of whisky distilleries. They have a theatre and events like the Highland Games. For a bigger day out, you can get to the Cairngorms or up towards Braemar within half an hour or so.
