Tummel Cottage is in Strathtummel. It's on my farm, which is about two thousand acres. You'll see sheep and cattle. The view is across Loch Tummel. It's a loch view, so some days it's calm and blue, other days it's grey and moody. It's a single-storey cottage, so all on one level. Sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's in good order, comfortable, with decent fittings. There's underfloor heating and a wood burner. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for a dog. We allow one pet. There's parking right outside.
You're in the middle of it here. Deer come through the fields. You might see an osprey over the loch. If you're into fishing, you have about a mile of the loch shore to use, plus there are two smaller lochs on the farm. The road outside is quiet, good for walking or cycling.
Pitlochry is about ten miles away. That's where you'll find the main shops, a couple of distilleries, and the festival theatre. The local pub and restaurant is also about ten miles, so you'd likely drive for an evening meal.
For days out, Queen's View is just up the road. It's a famous lookout over the loch. The Pass of Killiecrankie is nearby for a walk. If you're feeling adventurous, there's bungee jumping at Killiecrankie, and the area is popular for sailing on Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch. For wider planning, the National Trust for Scotland Queens View page has details, and Visit Perthshire covers the region.
Facilities: there's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. Bicycle storage is available. It's attached to Farragon Cottage next door, so you could book both if you were a group of four.
