Riverside Cottage is in Blair Atholl. It’s stone built and right next to the River Garry, so you can hear the water from the garden. You get the front garden to yourself. It’s got a table and chairs out there.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. Everything’s been refurbished, so it’s in good order. It’s all on the ground floor, which is handy. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but I’d check the full details if that’s a priority for you.
The living room has a wood burning stove. We leave you a starter supply of logs. There’s a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. WiFi is there.
In the village there’s a shop, a hotel that does bar meals, and a good tearoom. Blair Castle is a short walk away. If you need a bigger shop, the House of Bruar is about four miles up the road.
You’re on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. The walking around here is excellent, right from the door. For a local walk, the Bruar Falls are good. There’s a nine hole golf course in the village. Fishing and horse riding are available locally.
Pitlochry is about ten minutes by car. They’ve got the Festival Theatre and the fish ladder. Dunkeld is about half an hour south. Further out, you can get to Perth or Dundee in about an hour. Edinburgh and Glasgow are under two hours’ drive if you fancy a day trip.
No pets, I’m afraid. Parking is on site.
