The Bothy

The Bothy is in Fearnan, on the north side of Loch Tay. It's a two bedroom end-terrace cottage. It sleeps four and has two bathrooms, one for each bedroom.

The main living area is upstairs. It's open plan, so the kitchen, dining table, and sitting area are all in one room. That's where the good view is. You look straight out over the loch. There are patio doors onto a balcony.

It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything you'd expect is there: dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi. The bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.

The stairs are fine, but the front door and one bedroom are wheelchair accessible. If that's important, you should check the specifics with me before booking.

You can use the pier and the shared bit of beach to launch kayaks or a small boat. The village itself is quiet. There's a pub that does food about a mile and a half away. The nearest shop is in Kenmore, three miles.

Kenmore is worth a trip. It's got a beach, a little shop, and a couple of places to eat. The National Trust for Scotland looks after Fortingall, which is two miles away. That's where the ancient yew tree is. You can walk over the hill to it.

For a day out, Killin and the Falls of Dochart are at the far end of the loch. Glen Lyon is a very long, scenic drive from there. If you want to climb something, Ben Lawers is the big one nearby.

You're about an hour from Pitlochry or Perth. Edinburgh and Glasgow are closer to two hours' drive.
