Bluebell Lodge

This is Bluebell Lodge. It's part of Springfield Meadows, which is a site of six places near Halwill Junction in Devon. You're on about 14 acres here, with some fishing lakes.

The lodge sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's detached. There's a deck out the back that's covered, so you can sit out even if it's drizzling. It looks over one of the lakes. We redid the inside a few years ago, so it's in good order. It's got a 4 Star rating. Being on one level with no steps at the front makes it fairly straightforward to get into.

The site is quiet. You'll see birds, maybe deer or foxes around the edges. If you want to fish, the lakes are right there. You need your own gear.

Halwill Junction village is about half a mile down the road. There's a shop for basics, a pub, a chippy, and a post office. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Holsworthy. That's about seven miles.

If you want to get out, Roadford Reservoir is 20 minutes by car. You can walk there or mess about in boats. The coast at Bude and Widemouth Bay is about 17 miles. Good for surfing. Dartmoor is within half an hour if you fancy that.

Facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's parking right outside.
