Hendy

Hendy is out here in Llanfaelrhys. It's a semi-detached cottage on our farm. The views are good, out over the fields to the sea. Because we're well away from any towns, the night sky is very clear. You can see a lot of stars.

It sleeps four. Three bedrooms, but one's quite small with bunk beds. There's a separate room with a TV, which is handy if you've got kids. One bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not fancy.

The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for children and we allow one dog. You're welcome to walk around the farm tracks, but please shut gates and keep dogs on a lead near the livestock.

Aberdaron is about a mile and a half down the lane. It's a nice village with a big sandy beach, a couple of pubs, and a cafe. You can get boat trips over to Bardsey Island from there in the summer. The coastal path runs right through it if you're walking.

Within half an hour you can drive to places like Nant Gwrtheyrn for a coffee, or Pwllheli for the sailing club and a bigger beach. Abersoch is about twenty minutes for surfing or a busier seaside day. For castles, you've got Criccieth closer by, or Caernarfon a bit further. The Railway to the top of Snowdon starts from Llanberis, which is about forty minutes' drive.

What's here: Washing machine, TV, WiFi, cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding is included. There's parking right outside. Bikes can be stored in the shed.

Useful links for planning: The Snowdonia National Park site has walking and parking info. For local history and Bardsey Island, the Visit Wales page is a good start.
