Penrhyn Mawr

This is Penrhyn Mawr. It’s our farmhouse out near Aberdaron, on the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula. It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep and maybe us about. The house is Grade II listed, which means the walls are thick and the windows are small. It feels old, in a good way.

It sleeps six over three bedrooms and has two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. There’s a big inglenook fireplace with a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. The stairs are typical for an old house: they turn a corner and are a bit uneven.

The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the fields to the sea. There's nothing in the way. It’s very quiet out here, at the end of a lane. Aberdaron village is about a mile and a half down the road. There's a good sandy beach there, a couple of pubs, a shop, and a cafe for pastries.

You’re right on the edge of National Trust land here, so you can walk for miles along the coast path from the door. The whole peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For a change, Pwllheli is about a twenty minute drive for more shops or a supermarket. The edge of Snowdonia National Park is about half an hour away if you fancy mountains.

In terms of things here: there's parking right outside. The washing machine and dishwasher are in the utility room. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
