Ty Hir

Ty Hir is in Penycaerau, on the Llyn Peninsula. It's a detached house converted from old farm buildings. We did the conversion in 2007.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's well-insulated and the underfloor heating works well.

The living space is all open plan, with a high beamed ceiling. The floors are wood. The furniture is a mix of old and new things we like. There's an old French metal bedstead in one room.

You get a big lawned garden that looks out over our fields to the sea. The house sits in about 14 acres, so it's private and quiet.

For facilities, it's got pretty much everything: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We've also got a cot and highchair if you need them. Sorry, no pets.

The area is good for coastal walks and there are sandy beaches a short drive away. Abersoch and Pwllheli are nearby for shops and places to eat. Abersoch is known for sailing. Snowdonia is within half an hour if you want mountains.
