The Mews is up at Mondhui, in the Port of Menteith. It's a one-bedroom cottage, sleeps two. It's semi-detached and set in a courtyard next to the old farmhouse. The view is the main thing. You look right out over the Lake of Menteith and the island with Inchmahome Priory on it. It's quite high up, so you see a lot from the porch.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-finished inside. Wood floors, a wood burner, good bedding. The kitchen has granite worktops. It's comfortable.
You're in the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. You can walk straight from the door into the Menteith Hills and onto the Rob Roy Way. There's a lot of wildlife around, like red squirrels and deer. There's a small pond by the cottage and a bigger one on the estate for birds.
The lake is famous for trout fishing. For food, the Lake Hotel is about a mile down the road by the water. You get a 10% discount on dining there as a guest. Nick Nairn's Cook School is a few minutes' drive away.
Aberfoyle and Callander are within ten minutes. You can be at the David Marshall Lodge in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, or getting the steamship on Loch Katrine, just as quickly. Stirling, with the castle, is about twenty minutes away. Loch Lomond is half an hour. Glasgow is under an hour.
For facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, an enclosed patio area, and a wood burner. One well-behaved dog is allowed. Bedding and towels are included.
