Bonnie's Bothy is a one-bedroom cottage for two people in Brig o'Turk, near Callander. It's a detached, fairly simple stone building, quiet and on its own. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is the location. It's in the Trossachs, right in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. You drive along Loch Venachar to get here, which is a nice start. The place feels tucked away in the woods. You'll see deer, and there might be otters in the stream.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a wood burner, which you'll want on most of the year. It gets cold in the evenings. Outside there's a private, decked area with a table and chairs.
You can walk straight from the door. There are loads of forest paths. Ben Ledi is very close for a proper hill walk. Callander is about ten minutes drive for shops and a few pubs. The owners have a tennis court and a putting green about a mile away, you can ask them about using it.
The facilities are what you'd expect: a TV, wifi, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed. Parking is right outside.
If you want to explore, Stirling with the castle is about half an hour's drive. The shores of Loch Lomond are maybe twenty minutes. For bigger days out, the National Trust for Scotland has a lot of properties and walks in the area.
