Trunkie Cottage

Trunkie Cottage is in Brig o'Turk, in the middle of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It’s a detached cottage, just for two people.

It’s a 4 Star place, which means it’s comfortable and well looked after, with better fittings. It’s an eco build, so it’s very warm and the bills are sorted.

Inside, it’s one big room downstairs with the kitchen, dining and sitting area together. There’s a wood burner. The doors go out to the garden. The stairs to the bedroom are a spiral staircase. They're open-tread and a bit steep, so you need to be careful. The bedroom is upstairs overlooking the living area, with a very big bed and an en-suite shower room.

The garden is yours. It’s got a patio and a barbecue.

In the village, which is tiny, there’s a tea room and a pub, both a couple of minutes’ walk away. The tea room was in the ’39 Steps’ film. The post office is there too.

You’re right in the National Park so walking and cycling starts from the door. For a specific trip, you can drive to Loch Katrine in about five minutes and get the steamship, the Sir Walter Scott. Callander is a five minute drive for shops and cafes. Stirling, with the castle and everything else, is about 40 minutes by car.

The facilities are all there: wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed. There’s a cot if you need one.
