Grace's Cottage
Grace's Cottage is in Brig o'Turk in the Trossachs. It's a detached stone cottage built for the estate gamekeeper, I think around 1900. It's set back from the road, surrounded by old woodland. You'll often see deer in the trees. There's a stream at the bottom of the garden.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It's a 4 Star grading, so it's comfortable and well-kept. Everything is on one level, which is handy. The main living area is open plan, with a wood burner. The kitchen has a proper range cooker. French doors lead out to a patio and the garden.
The local shop is in Callander, about four miles away. The nearest pub is about three miles. You're deep in the countryside here, so you'll want a car.
For walking, you're right in the middle of it. Ben Ledi, Ben Venue, and Ben Lomond are all close by. You can fish for trout in the stream in the garden, and if you're quiet, you might see otters. There are cycle paths and footpaths straight from the door. The owners have a tennis court and putting green about a mile away, you can arrange to use it with them.
Callander is the main town for shops and places to eat. Stirling is about a 30-minute drive for the castle and other historical sites. Loch Lomond is about 20 minutes in the other direction.
Facilities: it has parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. It's pet friendly, up to three dogs. There's an electric vehicle charger.
