Swaledale 5
Swaledale 5 is a static caravan in Bowland Fell Holiday Park, up near Tosside. It's a single-storey place, which is handy if anyone struggles with stairs.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms: two doubles and a twin. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, but don't expect anything fancy. The sofa folds out into a bed if you need it.
The caravan is detached. You've got your own patio out the front with a table and chairs. It's not enclosed, so if you're bringing dogs you'll need to keep an eye on them. The park allows two pets.
On site, there's a shop for basics, an indoor pool, and a kids' play area. The pub, the Crowtrees Inn, has been done up. It serves food. Worth knowing: from early November to just before Christmas, all those facilities are closed. The park is open, but you'd need to go elsewhere for a swim or a pint.
You're right on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. It's very quiet up here, good for walking. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is about a 20-minute drive if you head towards Settle. Thornton Hall Country Park is nearby if you've got children who want to see some farm animals.
For facilities, bedding and towels are included. There's Wi-Fi, a TV, parking right outside, and a washing machine in the on-site launderette. All the electricity is included in the price.
