Ridge View Lodge
This is Ridge View Lodge. It's one of two lodges here in Terregles, just outside Dumfries. It's completely detached, so it's private. You get a patio with a barbecue and a bit of garden that looks out over the fields.
It sleeps three people. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and its own shower room, and one with a single bed. There's also a second bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, modern, and everything works. The living area is open plan with a kitchen, dining table, and seating. It's just what you'd expect.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a TV and the wifi is fine. All the bedding and towels are included. You park right outside.
Dumfries is about a ten minute drive. There's a big Tesco there if you need supplies. The town has the usual shops and some decent pubs. The Robert Burns Centre is there if you're interested. For a longer walk or a mountain bike ride, Mabie Forest is about fifteen minutes away. Mabie Forest has marked trails. There are several golf courses within half an hour.
The Solway coast is the closest bit of sea, about forty minutes by car. It's not a swimming beach really, more for birdwatching and a walk. It's quiet.
