The Clachan Bothy Mansegate

The Clachan Bothy is down an unmade track, right out in the fields. It's detached. The track is a bit rough, fine for normal cars if you take it steady.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. A four star place, so everything's new and works well. It was just all done up in 2024.

You get a super king bed. The bathroom has a separate shower and a bath. There's a wood burner in the sitting room and French doors out to the garden. The view from the garden is all fields and sky. Good sunrises.

It's got a modern kitchen with a dishwasher, and a utility room for boots and a washing machine. There's bike storage if you need it.

You're a few miles from Dumfries. For a big day out, Drumlanrig Castle is about half an hour's drive. The estate is huge. You can walk, mountain bike, or just see the gardens.

The Southern Upland Way and other walks are on the doorstep if that's your thing. For wider planning, the Visit Scotland South site is useful.

You can bring one dog. There's parking right there. All bedding and towels are included. It's got wifi and a TV.
