Kirkdale
Kirkdale is a big house just outside Kirkton, near Dumfries. It's detached, with its own gardens all around. It sleeps ten people.
There are five bedrooms. Three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after, but it's a proper family house more than a show home.
The kitchen has an Aga, which is great in winter. There's a utility room with a washing machine. The main living room is big, with a woodburning stove and good views over the garden. There are two other small sitting rooms too, which is handy if people want some quiet. The dining room is a good size for everyone to eat together.
The garden is fully enclosed. There's parking on the drive. Bikes can be stored round the back.
You're in the countryside here. Dumfries is about a fifteen minute drive for supermarkets and shops. For a day out, Caerlaverock Castle is worth a visit. The Galloway Forest Park is about half an hour's drive, good for walking and they have the dark sky observatory. If you're into mountain biking, several of the Seven Stanes trails are within easy reach.
Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
