The Stables At Grange Barn

The Stables At Grange Barn is in Whitedale, near the East Yorkshire coast. It's a one-bedroom place, just for two people. It's got a 4 Star rating, which I think means it's been done up nicely.

It's all on one floor. There's a big open room with a high ceiling and beams. It's got underfloor heating and a wood burner, so it's warm. The kitchen is part of that room and has a dishwasher and washing machine. The bedroom is separate with a king-size bed. The bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower.

Outside is a walled garden. It's private and enclosed. There's a wood-fired hot tub out there that you use yourself. The area is very dark at night, so if the stars are out, you see a lot of them.

You're about three miles from the coast. Mappleton Beach is the closest, it's sandy and usually quiet. Hornsea is a short drive away. It's a traditional seaside town with a promenade, shops, and places to eat. Hornsea Mere is there too if you like boats or birdwatching.

For a day out, Beverley is about half an hour's drive. The Minster is impressive and the town has good pubs and restaurants. Hull is also easily within half an hour for museums or the theatre.

If you like walking or nature, the coastal path is on your doorstep. Head south to Spurn Point, which is a long spit of land, or north to Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs. The RSPB at Bempton Cliffs is great for seeing seabirds, especially puffins in season.

Facilities: it has parking right outside, WiFi, and all bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
