Cowslip Cottage

Cowslip Cottage is one of four on our small working farm in Great Hatfield. It's a new-build, done out to a good standard. You get your own patio and garden area, and there's a big shared glass atrium in the middle of the cottages if you want to sit inside but still feel like you're outside.

It sleeps five in three bedrooms with one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything is on one level, so no stairs to worry about. We include bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside.

The farm is about ten acres. We've got goats, sheep, ponies, donkeys, and some pigs and chickens. Kids usually like to see them. There's a dog walk on the land too, and we take up to two dogs.

The local pub, about 400 yards away, is closed at the moment. But there are decent pubs in New Ellerby and Withernwick, a short drive away. The nearest shop is in Hornsea, about four miles.

The coast is close. Mappleton Sands is just down the road for a walk on the beach or the cliffs. Hornsea itself is a small seaside town with a mere for birdwatching and boat hire. Beverley is about a 20-minute drive; it's got the Minster and the racecourse. Hull is about half an hour away if you fancy a day out, with The Deep aquarium.

For stately homes, there's Burton Agnes Hall and Sewerby Hall near Bridlington. The countryside around here is the Yorkshire Wolds, which is good for walking. If you're planning to explore, the Yorkshire Wolds website has some good information.
