The Horseshoes is on a quiet street near the centre of Hornsea. It’s a terrace house, not huge, but plenty of room for seven. There’s private parking on the drive.
We refurbished it in 2018. So the kitchens and bathrooms are modern and work properly. The layout downstairs is open-plan. There’s a big wood burner in the living area. It heats the whole place nicely. One thing to note: the rooms are an unusual shape. It’s not a problem, just a quirk of the old building.
It sleeps seven in three bedrooms. Two doubles, one with an ensuite shower room, and a triple room with a bunk bed and a single. There’s another family bathroom upstairs.
There’s a small games room off the kitchen with a pool table and a box of board games. Kids seem to like it. The garden is a small, enclosed patio out the back. It gets the sun in the late afternoon.
You’re very close to everything. The beach is about a fifteen minute walk. The local pub is 100 yards away. They do food. There are shops and cafes about five minutes walk.
Hornsea Mere is a five minute walk. You can hire rowing boats or go sailing there in the season. The promenade is good for a stroll. If you drive, Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve is brilliant for seabirds. Hull is about half an hour away, the Deep aquarium is there. Beverley is a bit closer, maybe twenty minutes, and it’s a nice market town.
Facilities wise: you’ve got the washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. We accept up to three well-behaved dogs.
