Hayloft

The Hayloft is in Great Hatfield, on the edge of the Wolds. It's a single cottage converted from an old farm building, for two people. There's a bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and the living space is downstairs. It's got a 5 Star rating, which mainly means it's well-equipped and everything's in good order.

The cottage is on a small farm with about ten acres. There are some animals around, goats and sheep and that sort of thing. You're welcome to go and see them. There's an enclosed patio area just for this cottage.

The local pub is about five minutes' walk down the lane. It does food. The nearest shop is in Hornsea, that's a four mile drive.

Hornsea itself has a beach and a freshwater lake called The Mere. Mappleton Sands is closer, just a couple of miles away for a walk along the cliffs or down to the beach. You can be at the coast in about five minutes by car.

Further afield, Beverley is about a twenty minute drive. It's a nice market town with the Minster and the racecourse. Hull is roughly half an hour, where you've got The Deep aquarium. For a proper walk, the Yorkshire Wolds are right on the doorstep. The Yorkshire Wolds Way national trail goes through here.

As for the place itself, it's got parking, wifi, a TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. Sorry, no pets.

If you're planning trips, the National Trust in Yorkshire site is useful for places like Burton Agnes Hall.
