This is No.18, in Hinton St Mary. It's a detached thatched cottage, so you're on your own, not sharing any walls. The garden is private, and you get two parking spaces right there.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so everything's in good order and it's comfortable. You can bring up to two dogs.
The pub is directly opposite the front door. It's called The White Horse, a 16th-century place with log fires. They do food and drink.
The stairs inside are steep and a bit narrow. They're cottage stairs.
For facilities, you've got WiFi, TV, all bedding and towels, plus a washing machine. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. There's bike storage if you're cycling. The garden has a patio. The place is on a working farm.
The village is quiet. The church is 12th century, and there's a famous Roman mosaic that was found here. For a shop, the nearest is in Sturminster Newton, about three miles away. That's where you'll find a supermarket, a weekly market, and a mill on the River Stour.
Within half an hour you can get to Shaftesbury and Gold Hill. The Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is all around for walking. The Jurassic Coast is about a 40-minute drive for the sea and fossils. For something different, Monkey World and the Tank Museum at Bovington are in that direction too.
The local area has fishing, horse riding, and a golf course nearby if that's your thing.
