Marlott is in East Orchard. It’s a bungalow, so everything's on one level, which is helpful for getting about. The doors are wide enough for a wheelchair. It's in a small courtyard with a few other cottages. We live next door.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean. It’s not luxury, but it’s got what you need.
You get a patio area. The main garden is ours, but we’ve got about 8 acres of land here. You'll see deer and buzzards. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding is included and there's a cot and highchair if you need them.
You can bring dogs. Up to three are allowed.
The closest pub is about two miles away in Stour Row. Shops are about three and a half miles, in Shaftesbury. That's where the famous Gold Hill is. It's the hill from the Hovis advert.
There’s a golf course and fishing about a mile away. Good walking right from the door.
Shaftesbury is four miles north. Blandford Forum and Salisbury are about a 30 minute drive. Longleat is about 40 minutes. Stourhead is maybe 35 minutes. The coast at Poole or Bournemouth is just under an hour. Weymouth is a bit further.
Some useful links if you're planning: National Trust around Shaftesbury, and Blackdown Hills National Landscape. It’s an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty here.
