St James Cottage is in Shaftesbury. It's a thatched cottage at the bottom of Gold Hill, which is that steep cobbled street you might know from the old Hovis advert.
It sleeps four. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. Two are double rooms, and one has bunk beds. It's got a 4 Star rating. The building is about 500 years old and listed, so mind your head in a couple of doorways. The stairs are a bit steep and winding, which is normal for a place this old.
The living room has a wood burner. The kitchen is a decent size with a dining table. The garden is up some steps from the back door. It's a sunny terrace with a table and chairs.
You're a few minutes' walk from the town centre. There are shops, cafes, and a few pubs that do food. Walking up Gold Hill is worth it for the view.
For days out, Salisbury and its cathedral are about half an hour's drive. The Jurassic Coast, places like Lulworth Cove, are just over 30 miles south so you can get there in under an hour. There are footpaths straight from the cottage into the Blackmore Vale countryside.
In the cottage there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. The wood burner is ready to use. Sorry, no pets.
