The Stables, Mill Farm
The Stables is on our farm, Mill Farm, in Okeford Fitzpaine. It used to be a stable block. It's all on the ground floor, which is useful.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms: one double, two twins. There's one main bathroom with a bath and shower, plus a separate toilet. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. Everything is straightforward.
You come in into the main room. The kitchen's at one end, the living area at the other, with a wood burner. The stairs are steep to the mezzanine, which has a sofa and TV area. It's a bit of a feature, but mind your head up there.
Outside there's a small patio with a table. A stream runs past it, so you get the sound of water.
The village shop and the pub are a five minute walk. The pub does food. For bigger shops, Sturminster Newton is about ten minutes drive.
It's very quiet here. Good for walking straight from the door. Bulbarrow Hill is close, maybe five minutes in the car. The views from there are excellent, right across the vale.
You can get to a lot within half an hour. Blandford Forum is about 15 minutes. Sherborne is 20. The Jurassic Coast at Lulworth or Weymouth is around 40 minutes. Kingston Lacy is about 40 minutes too.
Facilities: Wi-Fi, parking for two cars, washing machine, wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. We allow two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The entrance is step-free.
