The Stables, Mill Farm
The Stables is out at Mill Farm in Okeford Fitzpaine. It used to be stables for the farm, obviously. Now it's a cottage for six.
All the rooms are on the ground floor, which is handy. There are three bedrooms: one double and two with twin beds. One bathroom. It's got the 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and everything works. The main living space is open plan with a wood burner in the corner for when it's cold.
Outside, there's a small patio area with some furniture. A stream runs along the edge of the property, so you can hear the water.
The village itself has a shop and a pub, both a few minutes walk away. Sturminster Newton is about three miles for a bigger supermarket.
It's good for walking straight from the door. Bulbarrow Hill is a short drive and gives you a proper view over the Blackmore Vale. The whole area is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
If you want to drive out, the Jurassic Coast is about 40 minutes. Places like Corfe Castle or Kingston Lacey are within an hour. National Trust Dorset has a good list.
Facilities are straightforward: there's parking, Wi-Fi, a washing machine, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if needed. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. You can bring up to two dogs.
