Croft Cottage
Croft Cottage is in Lydlinch, a little village in Dorset. It's detached, so no neighbours on your walls. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got a dog or kids.
It sleeps six, but there are only two proper bedrooms. One is on the first floor with an en-suite. The other is downstairs. The extra two beds are sofa beds in a room off the main upstairs bedroom. Just so you know the setup.
It's a 3 Star place. Everything works, it's clean, and you've got the basics like a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there.
You can bring one dog. The garden is secure for them.
The village is quiet. The nearest pub and a restaurant are about two miles away. The closest shop is in Stourton Caundle, three miles. You'll be driving for most things.
For walking, you're right next to a conservation area. Hambledon Hill is nearby for a good climb with views. Further out, within about half an hour, you've got Sherbourne with its abbey, and Shaftesbury for that famous hill. If you need a wet weather day, the Tank Museum at Bovington or Monkey World are about a 25-minute drive. Longleat is just over 30 minutes north.
