The Farmhouse Sandhills

The Farmhouse is on Sandhills farm, about five miles south of Sherborne. It's a working sheep and beef farm, about 300 acres. The house itself is detached, old, and sleeps twelve people.

There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms. One bathroom is a wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped but it's still a farmhouse, not a show home. The stairs are what you'd expect from an old place.

You get the place to yourselves, but there are two other cottages on the farm as well. One, Churchill Cottage, connects to The Farmhouse through an internal door if you need more space. They can be booked together or separately.

Inside, there's a large dining table that seats eighteen. The games room has a pool table. Outside, all three properties share a bigger games room. There's a coarse fishing lake about a hundred yards from the house.

The garden is enclosed. There's a barbecue, a washing machine, and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on the farm track right by the house.

The nearest shop and pub are in the village, about three miles away. Sherborne is your main town for supermarkets and other bits. It's got an abbey, a castle, and some nice places to eat.

For days out, the coast is about a forty minute drive. Weymouth, West Bay, and Lyme Regis are all on the Jurassic Coast. Inland, you've got places like Montacute House and Stourhead for gardens. The Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton is good if you like planes. Longleat is just under an hour's drive.
