Armswell House
Armswell House is an old farmhouse in Mappowder, Dorset. It's on our 650-acre organic dairy farm, so there are fields all around you.
The house sleeps a lot of people, eighteen. There are seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, so groups don't have to queue. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after, not basic. Two living rooms, both with open fires. The kitchen is big, with farmhouse tables, good for everyone to eat together. The cellar has a games room with a pool table.
It's an 18th-century building, so the ceilings are high and there are some original fireplaces. The stairs are your typical old house stairs.
You have your own walled garden. It's quite large, with a lawn and flower borders. It's private. You can see the farm from there.
For walks, you can go straight out from the door onto the farm tracks. The Dorset Gap is very close, which is a beautiful spot for walking. The nearest pub is about a mile away in Plush. It's a good village inn. For a shop, you'll need to drive about five miles.
The coast is about 18 miles if you want the beach. Dorchester is the main town, about a 25-minute drive. It has a market and the Maiden Castle earthworks. Cerne Abbas is closer, maybe 15 minutes, to see the village and the Cerne Giant. There are good links for planning: National Trust Dorset and Visit Dorset.
Facilities: everything you'd need is here. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking. We include bedding and towels. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a BBQ in the garden.
We have another cottage on the farm, The Stables. You can book both together if you need space for more people.
