Cerne Abbey Cottage is in Cerne Abbas. It's part of the old abbey buildings. You'll be staying inside the abbey grounds, which is a bit unusual. The abbey is privately owned, but as a guest you can walk around the courtyard and the gardens. It's quiet.
It's a one-bedroom place, sleeps two. The stairs inside are a bit narrow, like you'd expect. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights.
The village has a shop and three pubs, all a minute's walk away. They do good food. The famous Cerne Giant is up on the hill. You can see it from lots of places around here.
For walking, you can start from the doorstep. The village trail is good. The Piddle Valley and places like Tolpuddle are a short drive. If you want the coast, Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast are about half an hour away by car.
Facilities: there's parking on site, an enclosed garden patio, WiFi, and a BBQ. You can bring one well-behaved dog. Bedding is included.
