Cowleaze Totnell

Cowleaze is one of the barn conversions on our farm here in Totnell. It's a working farm with beef cattle, sheep and chickens. You'll see them about. The barns are stone and the conversion is good. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been checked for quality and is well equipped.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The layout is conventional, so bedrooms downstairs, living area upstairs. Some of the other cottages here are upside down, but this one isn't. It's open plan on the first floor. You get your own patio and garden area with a table and a BBQ. The views are over our fields.

It's quiet here. Good for walking straight from the door. You'll see buzzards and deer. The kids usually like seeing the farm animals.

For a shop or a pub, you need to drive about a mile and a half. Sherborne is the nearest proper town, about five miles. It's got a castle, an abbey, and the usual shops. Dorchester is about ten miles the other way. That's bigger, with museums like the Dinosaur Museum.

Within half an hour you can get to quite a few places. The Tank Museum at Bovington is about 25 minutes. Monkey World is similar. For the coast, Weymouth and the start of the Jurassic Coast is about 40 minutes, so a bit further. The National Trust has a lot of properties nearby if that's your thing. The Jurassic Coast Trust site is useful for planning trips there.

Inside, it has what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside. No pets, sorry.
