The Loft
The Loft is on Boys Hill, which is in Dorset. It's a converted part of a barn. It's for two people.
The layout is upside down. You come in on the ground floor where the bedroom and bathroom are. Then you go upstairs to the main living area and kitchen. The reason is the view. Upstairs looks out over the fields.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and modern. The stairs to get up to the living room are a proper flight, not a ladder, but they are quite steep.
It's very quiet here. You'll hear sheep and not much else. The garden area is enclosed, so it's private. There's space to store bikes if you bring them.
Sherborne is the closest town, about four miles. It's nice. There's an abbey, shops, and places to eat. Sherborne Old Castle is English Heritage if you have membership.
The coast is under an hour's drive. The Jurassic Coast stuff, like Lulworth Cove or Durdle Door, is in that direction. Inland, you've got places like Sturminster Newton or Shaftesbury within half an hour.
Facilities: There's a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's a shower, no bath. No pets.
For planning days out, the National Trust and Dorset AONB sites are useful.
