Old Orchard Cottage Goathill

Old Orchard Cottage is in Goathill, near Sherborne. It's attached to our farmhouse on the yard. You get your own garden with a table and chairs. The view is over the farm's lake. There's usually a heron about.

The cottage sleeps five. There are two bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is pretty good. It's clean and has everything you'd need. It's an old place, so the ceilings are low in parts. Watch your head on the beam in the living room.

The kitchen is open plan. There's a dishwasher and washing machine. The sofa is by an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. We leave you some logs to get started. Bedding and towels are included.

There's a pub about a mile away in the village. It serves food. Sherborne is about four miles away for proper shops. It's got a castle and an abbey.

You can walk straight out from the door onto the farm tracks. It's 300 acres, so you won't get lost. The land is a working farm, so you'll see sheep and cows. Please shut any gates you find.

Within half an hour you can get to a few places. Shaftesbury is about 20 minutes drive, that's where the famous Gold Hill is. Stourhead is about 25 minutes away, the National Trust gardens are nice for a walk. If you want the coast, Weymouth or the Jurassic Coast around Lulworth Cove is about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

The facilities are all listed. There's parking right outside. We can provide a cot and a highchair. No pets, sorry, because of the farm animals.
