The Firs Child Okeford

The Firs is a one bedroom cottage on my small site here in Child Okeford. It's a ground floor place, sleeps two. It's got a shower room. It was all done up properly in 2021.

It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and well kept. It's not huge, but it's got everything you'd need. The living area is open plan, so it feels light. There's a sofa, a TV, and a kitchen area. You get your own small garden with it, and a parking space right outside.

The village is quiet. There are two pubs, both do food. There's a farm shop with a cafe, and a village shop for basics. It's a good spot for walking straight from the door. Hambledon Hill is right there. It's an old hill fort. You walk up there, the views are massive. You can also get on the old railway path, the Dorset Trailway, for a flat walk or cycle.

For a day out, Blandford is about ten minutes by car. It's a proper market town with shops and places to eat. The Badger Brewery does tours if that's your thing. The big attractions are all within half an hour's drive, really. You've got the Kingston Lacy estate, or Corfe Castle. The Cerne Abbas Giant is about twenty five minutes away.

The coast, the Jurassic Coast, is about forty five minutes if the traffic's okay. Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, that way. The New Forest is about the same drive in the other direction if you fancy seeing the ponies.

Facilities are all included. Bedding, towels, WiFi, the washing machine. There's a shared laundry room on site if you need it. No pets, I'm afraid. The front door is step-free and the internal doors are wide, so it works for wheelchair access.

I've got three other cottages here on the same site. They're called The Oaks, The Willows, and The Old Pump House. The Firs is the smallest, for two people. If you were coming with more people, you could book them together.
