The Byre
The Byre is our old stone barn. We converted it ourselves a while back. It's detached and sits next to our farmhouse, but it's very private with its own garden.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. Got a 4 Star rating. It's all on the ground floor, which people seem to like. The bed has a ceiling fan and there's a big walk-in wardrobe.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over fields towards Duncliffe Wood. Nothing in the way. It's very quiet here.
The garden is a good size, lawn with some shrubs. You can sit out there. There are walks you can start right from the gate.
The nearest pub and shop are about two miles away in Marnhull. Decent pubs there. For a bigger shop, Shaftesbury is ten minutes by car. You'll know Gold Hill from the Hovis advert. Sherborne's nice too, about twenty minutes, has a castle and an abbey.
If you want a day out, Stourhead is about half an hour. So is Longleat. The Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton is good if you like planes. The coast, around Lyme Regis or West Bay, is probably 45 minutes to an hour.
It has the things you'd expect: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, dishwasher. There's a wood burner for winter. Parking is right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
