The Byre is down in Fifehead Magdalen. It's a converted stone barn, detached. We're on a farm but it's separate, with its own garden and a view over the fields towards Duncliffe Wood.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's fairly comfortable. Everything is on the ground floor so no stairs. The bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and there's a ceiling fan, which is useful in summer.
The garden is a decent size, lawned with some shrubs. It's enclosed, so fine for one dog. You can sit out there and it's very quiet.
It's properly rural. The nearest shop or pub is about two miles away in Stalbridge or Marnhull. Shaftesbury is close, maybe ten minutes by car. That's where Gold Hill is. Sherborne is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes. It has an abbey and some good restaurants.
For a day out, Stourhead is about half an hour away. So is Longleat if you fancy that. The coast, around Lyme Regis or West Bay, is just under an hour's drive.
Inside, there's underfloor heating and a woodburning stove. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside.
