The Manor Stables

The Manor Stables is in Hinton St Mary, in Dorset. It's basically the old stables from a big house here, all done up nicely now. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom.

It’s got a 4 Star rating. That means it’s nice. It’s comfortable, not just basic. It feels solid and clean.

The stairs are wooden and go up from the living room. They’re fine, just a normal cottage staircase.

You’re allowed two dogs. There’s parking right outside the door.

Inside, there’s a wood burner. It’s good for cooler nights. The kitchen has a dishwasher and everything else you’d need. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if you’re bringing a baby.

The village is quiet. There’s a pub, The White Horse, about a five minute walk away. It’s old and does food. The village is known for a Roman mosaic they found here.

For days out, Sturminster Newton is ten minutes by car. It has supermarkets and a weekly market. Shaftesbury and its famous Gold Hill are about 20 minutes away.

The coast is half an hour’s drive. You can get to spots on the Jurassic Coast in about that time. Walking on the coast path there is the main draw.

Closer by, the River Stour is good for walks. You can walk to Sturminster Newton Mill from here along the river if you fancy it. The Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is all around us.

If you need more space, the house next door, Manor Lodge, can be booked together with this one.
