Melbury Chalet

This is Melbury Chalet. It's a detached chalet on a working dairy farm outside Kington Magna. The farm is called Stour Cross Farm. It's quiet here, just fields.

It sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy. There's one double on the ground floor, and then a master double and a twin upstairs. The upstairs rooms look out over the fields and woods towards Shaftesbury. The stairs are normal.

Inside, it's open plan. The living area has leather sofas and a corner fireplace. French doors open onto a private veranda. The kitchen has the usual things: dishwasher, washing machine. All bedding and towels are included.

Outside on the veranda there's a hot tub. It's under a wooden gazebo for some privacy. Beyond that, there are some shared grounds with seating.

It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. The farm is active, so you'll see cows. There's a games room on site with table tennis.

The nearest pub is a short drive away. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Shaftesbury or Gillingham. Dorset's a good base for seeing things. The National Trust has lots of houses and coastline locally. The Jurassic Coast, like West Bay, is about a 40 minute drive. Sherborne Abbey and the ruins at Old Wardour Castle are within half an hour. Sturminster Newton is a typical Dorset market town, about 15 minutes away.

One thing to note is we don't allow pets. There is parking right outside the chalet.
