The Old Mill

The Old Mill is on our farm, just outside Linlithgow. It's one of two cottages here. You look out over the fields.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both upstairs. A king size and a twin. Each has its own shower room, which is handy. Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, living, dining area. It's well put together. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and everything works.

You're on a farm, so there's about two miles of grassy tracks to walk. Good for dogs. We can take one dog. There's parking and an electric car charger.

The stairs are fine, normal stairs. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them.

The Champany Inn is a five minute walk. It's a proper steak house. Linlithgow has pubs and restaurants. It's about three miles to the town centre. The train station there gets you to Edinburgh in 15 minutes or Glasgow in 25.

You're close to the M9, so getting around is easy. Edinburgh airport is about 15 minutes by car. Stirling is half an hour or so. The coast, like South Queensferry, is about 20 minutes away.

Locally, Linlithgow Palace is the big one. Hopetoun House and the House of the Binns are nearby too. You can be in the Trossachs or over in Fife in under an hour if you want a day out.
