Mayflower

Mayflower is a cottage at a livery yard and working farm outside Linlithgow. It's a purpose-built holiday house. You get the place to yourselves.

It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, each with its own shower. Two bedrooms have king-size beds. One is a twin. One of the king rooms is on the ground floor, which is handy. The living room is open plan and looks out over the garden and fields towards the town.

There's a wood-burning stove for the evenings. The kitchen has a breakfast bar and a table for six. It’s got a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.

Linlithgow itself is about ten minutes away by car. It’s a historic town. Linlithgow Palace is there, and you can walk around the loch. There’s a train station with direct services to Edinburgh and Glasgow, each about 20 minutes on the express train.

You’re right by Junction 3 of the M9, so getting about is easy. Edinburgh is roughly half an hour away by car, depending on traffic. The coast at South Queensferry, with the Forth Bridges, is about a 25-minute drive. The Kelpies and the Helix park are about 20 minutes away towards Falkirk.

The cottage has on-site parking. One well-behaved dog is allowed. There’s a highchair, cot, and stairgate available if you need them.
