Ross Cottage is where I live, up the track. It's my place, but don't worry, the cottage is completely separate in its own garden. It's on my land, but you have your privacy.
The cottage sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom, so if you've got a full house, you'll have to plan your morning routine a bit. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's looked after to a good standard.
Inside it's straightforward. You've got a living room, a kitchen that has what you need for cooking. There's a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included so you don't have to bring your own.
You can walk into Cairneyhill from here, it's not far. The village has a couple of shops, a pub, and a golf club. For a bigger shop or more places to eat, Dunfermline is about a ten minute drive.
Being out here means good walks start from your door. But if you want to see more of Fife, you're well placed. The Fife Coastal Path is a short drive away and takes you to all those fishing villages. There's also fishing at Lochleven if that's your thing.
Because we're just off the motorway junction, getting about is easy. Edinburgh Airport is about 30 minutes. The city centre is under 45 minutes. You can be in Stirling or Perth in about the same time. Glasgow is a bit over an hour.
Outside there's a patio and a decent sized lawn. It's enclosed. You can park right outside.
A couple of things plainly: it's down a farm track so the surface is a bit uneven in places, just take it easy. And sorry, no pets allowed.
