Family Lodge No. 4
Family Lodge No. 4 is one of the old hunting lodges on the Atholl Palace Hotel estate in Pitlochry. It's not separate from the hotel, you share the grounds, but the lodge itself is private.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. On the rating, 4 Star means it's comfortable and well equipped.
The layout is a bit different. The main living area is upstairs. That's so you can see the view from the windows. The bedrooms are downstairs. It works well.
As a guest at the lodge, you can use the hotel facilities. That includes the indoor swimming pool, the gym, and the spa. You can also eat at the hotel restaurant or just go up for a drink. It's a short walk up the hill.
The town centre of Pitlochry is about a fifteen minute walk downhill. There are shops, cafes, and the Festival Theatre. The distillery is there too.
For walking, you're right in it. You can go straight out from the lodge. Queen's View is about a fifteen minute drive. Loch Tummel is there. For a bigger day out, you can drive up to the Cairngorms or over to Dunkeld in under half an hour.
Facilities in the lodge: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
