Family Lodge No. 2 The Place Upstairs
This is Lodge Number 2, it's called The Place Upstairs. It's one of the old hunting lodges on the Atholl Palace Hotel grounds in Pitlochry.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well looked after. The living area is all upstairs, which is where the name comes from. You get the views from there. The bedroom is on the ground floor.
You're right in the hotel grounds, so you can use all their facilities. That means the swimming pool, the gym, the spa, and the sauna. You can walk up to the hotel for a meal or a drink. The hotel has a museum about its history too.
Pitlochry town centre is about a ten minute walk. There are shops and cafes there, and the Pitlochry Festival Theatre. The fishing on Loch Faskally is local. There are a couple of golf courses nearby.
You're well placed for getting out into the hills. The drive north up the A9 towards the Cairngorms is straightforward from here. For whisky, the Blair Athol distillery is in Pitlochry itself, and Edradour is just outside town.
For the lodge: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a patio and garden area, and parking right outside. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
