Family Lodge No. 3 is one of the old hunting lodges on the Atholl Palace Hotel estate just outside Pitlochry. You're in the grounds, so you've got trees and views, but you can walk up to the main hotel in a few minutes.
It says it sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which I think reflects the access you get to the hotel facilities. The layout is a bit different from a normal house: the main living area is upstairs to make the most of the views, and the bedrooms are mostly downstairs.
You get the use of the hotel pool, spa, and gym as part of your stay. You can book treatments or just use the pool. You can also eat at the hotel restaurant or just go for a drink. It's handy.
The lodge itself has a patio or garden area, parking right there, WiFi, and a washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
Pitlochry town centre is about a twenty minute walk, maybe less. It's a nice walk along the river. The town has shops, cafes, and the Pitlochry Festival Theatre. The dam and salmon ladder are worth a look.
You're right in the middle of things for getting out. You can walk up into the hills straight from the lodge. Loch Faskally is right there for fishing or a stroll. For a day out, Killiecrankie is just up the road, and you can drive to Blair Atholl or Dunkeld in under half an hour. The Queen's View over Loch Tummel is about a fifteen minute drive.
