The Dairy Buildwas

The Dairy is in Buildwas, next to the Ironbridge Gorge. It's a single-storey cottage, so no stairs at all. We converted it from an old farm building.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-finished and everything works. The heating is warm. It's on the ground floor, which is handy.

The main room is open plan. There's a kitchen area, a table, and a sitting area with a TV. The electric wood burner is nice to look at and throws out a good heat. The bedroom and shower room both have some exposed stonework. It's just part of the building.

Outside, there's a private patio with a table and chairs. You can sit out there. There's parking right next to the cottage.

In terms of facilities, there's a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.

The location is quiet. You're right by the river and the woods. For a pint or a meal, the Tuck Hill Grill is about a ten minute walk. The Buildwas Abbey ruins are just over the road, managed by English Heritage.

You're about a five minute drive from Ironbridge itself. All the museums are there. The Ironbridge Gorge Trust site has the details. Further afield, Shrewsbury is maybe twenty minutes by car. The Shropshire Hills are on your doorstep for walking. The Wrekin is a local hill with good views, about fifteen minutes away.

There are a few other cottages on the same site, so if you're coming with a bigger group, you can book several together. This one doesn't take pets.
