Meadow View

It’s called Meadow View, and it's in Harley. It’s just outside the village proper, so you get open fields out the front and back. The view from the conservatory and the main living room is straight across to Wenlock Edge. It’s very green.

It sleeps ten, over five bedrooms. Two bathrooms, one of them is an en-suite. It's a 5 Star rating, which basically means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. It’s fine for a wheelchair user to get in the front door, but there’s a step up into the kitchen and the downstairs loo isn’t adapted, so it’s not fully accessible.

There’s a decent-sized garden with a patio and a BBQ. You can bring one dog. Inside, there’s a separate dining room that seats everyone, and a games room with table football and a PlayStation hooked up to a big TV. The WiFi is alright.

The nearest pub is a mile down the lane in Harley village. For a shop or a restaurant you’ll need to go about three miles, to Much Wenlock probably.

If you like walking, you’re right on the edge of everything. You can be up on the Shropshire Hills or Wenlock Edge in no time. For a day out, Ironbridge is about 20 minutes by car. Shrewsbury is about 25 minutes. Bridgnorth is similar. Attingham Park is just outside Shrewsbury. The county’s good for fishing if that’s your thing, and there are a few golf courses around.

The place has the usual stuff: dishwasher, washing machine, cot and highchair if you need them. All bedding and towels are included. Parking for three cars on the drive.

If you’re planning walks or visiting historical sites, these are the main ones: Shropshire Hills, National Trust: Attingham Park, and English Heritage: Buildwas Abbey (which is close to Ironbridge).
