Shepherds Lodge
Shepherds Lodge is a shepherds hut on our farm in Buildwas, Shropshire. It's for two people.
It's in the valley garden, so you're in the middle of it but it's private. You get your own bathroom facilities just over from the hut itself. The view is up towards the Wrekin. It's a quiet spot.
Inside it's one room with a double bed. It's well-fitted and has everything you'd need. We've got WiFi, a TV, a washing machine you can use, and your own parking space. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if needed.
The pub in Buildwas is about a mile and a quarter away. They do food. The nearest shop is in Ironbridge, three miles.
You're right on the edge of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For a walk, heading up the Wrekin is the obvious one. The Severn Valley is right here too.
Ironbridge Gorge is a ten minute drive. It's a World Heritage Site with all the museums. Buildwas Abbey is just down the road. Shrewsbury is about twenty minutes away, Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock are close too. Ludlow is about half an hour.
There are a few National Trust places within reach. Attingham Park is the closest, maybe twenty minutes. Further on you've got Powis Castle over in Wales.
Basically, it's a place to stop and be in the countryside. If you want to go out, there's plenty to do. If you don't, you can just sit and look at the hill.
