Woodcarver's Cottage
Woodcarver's Cottage is in Telford. It's a detached little place in our garden. You get a private deck looking out over the garden, which we try to keep tidy. It's very quiet, you'd never know the town centre is just over a mile away.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one shower room. Everything's on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. The shower is good and hot. There are three steps up to the deck.
You're about three-quarters of a mile from the nearest pub that does food. The Telford Steam Railway is literally 300 yards up the lane if you like that sort of thing. Horsehay Pool is even closer, about 100 yards.
The main thing is you're very close to Ironbridge, it's just a few minutes in the car. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are ten museums there, so you can easily fill a day. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums site has all the details.
Shrewsbury is about half an hour's drive. Nice for a wander and some shopping. Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock are closer. The Shropshire Hills are beautiful for walking. The Shropshire Hills AONB site has walking routes.
For other days out, there are plenty of National Trust and English Heritage sites around. National Trust for this area and English Heritage West Midlands.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
