Shepherd’s Retreat
Shepherd’s Retreat is a shepherd’s hut in Buildwas, Shropshire. It’s just for two people, one bedroom and one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s detached, so you’re on your own out there.
The hut is basically one open plan room. There’s a double bed, a small kitchen area, a wood burner, and a table. The bathroom is en-suite with a shower. It’s all new and works fine, but it’s compact. If you’re tall, mind your head in some spots.
Outside there’s a decked area with a table and chairs, and a brick BBQ. You look out over a field. It’s quiet.
You’re about ten minutes drive from Ironbridge. The museums and the famous bridge are there. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums site has all the details. For walking, the Shropshire Hills area is right on your doorstep. The Wrekin hill is a short drive away, that’s a good hike.
Shrewsbury is about twenty minutes by car. Nice town, decent shops and places to eat. There’s a golf course nearby if that’s your thing, and some local stables offer horse riding.
Facilities: everything’s included like electricity and WiFi. Bedding and towels are provided. There’s parking right next to the hut. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
It’s part of a small group of huts and conversions on the same site. If you’ve got a bigger group, you can book several together.
