Applewood

Applewood is a rebuilt barn on a working farm in Sheinton. It's detached and quiet. The views are good, just fields and hills.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. Two bedrooms and their showers are on the ground floor. The other two are upstairs and share a big bathroom with a separate bath and shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well done.

The main room is all open plan. Kitchen, dining, sitting area. It's bright because of the skylights. There are patio doors straight out to the garden from both the dining and living spaces.

The garden's enclosed. There's a sauna out there, which is a nice extra. You can see the farm from it. The farm is 60 acres, so you can walk around. There's a brook, an orchard, and a nature trail. They've got some pygmy goats.

It's in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For a proper walk, you can head into the hills straight from the door. Church Stretton is about a 15-minute drive. They call it Little Switzerland because of the steep hills. It's a good base.

Much Wenlock is close, maybe 10 minutes. That's where the modern Olympics started. Ironbridge is about half an hour away. It's a World Heritage Site. Shrewsbury is a 25-minute drive, nice for a day out. Ludlow is about 40 minutes, good for food and the castle.

Facilities: dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking for a couple of cars right outside. No pets, sorry.
