Craigard Cottage
Craigard Cottage is in Corrie, on Arran. It's a red sandstone cottage, recently done up. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-kept.
The garden is enclosed, mostly lawn with a patio. There are trees around it so it feels private. You can hear a stream at the back. We've seen red squirrels out there.
Inside, it's bright and there's a wood burner in the living room for when it's cold. The kitchen doors open onto the patio. There's a utility room which is handy for dumping wet coats and boots.
Upstairs, the main bedroom has an en-suite and looks over the garden towards the hills and the sea. The twin room has sea views too. The bathroom has a window where people have spotted otters in the sea. The landing has a little play area with some toys and beanbags for kids.
The driveway is shared with the bigger house next door, Craegard House, but you have your own parking spaces. Both can be booked together.
Corrie is a quiet village. There's a hotel about a ten minute walk away that does food and has music sometimes. There's a children's play park too. Brodick, the main village, is about six miles away for shops.
If you walk, the path up Goatfell starts nearby. The coast is right there. For a day out, National Trust for Scotland Arran has information on walks and Brodick Castle. VisitScotland Arran is good for general trip planning.
Facilities include WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. No pets.
