The Annex is attached to our house, which is that old cottage by the river. You get your own front door and patio space. It sleeps four, in two double rooms. Both have their own bathrooms. The main bedroom looks out over the River Exe.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's been modernised to a good standard, but it's still part of an old place. It's clean and comfortable.
Downstairs is the living room, with a smart TV and a small kitchen area off it. There's a patio with a table right outside your door. The lawn by the river is shared with us, but we keep to ourselves. The cottage is right on the water's edge, so you need to watch children carefully.
You can walk along the riverbank from here. There's a restaurant just over the old bridge, about five minutes on foot. Tiverton is four miles away for supermarkets. Exeter is about ten miles. It's an easy drive.
You're well placed for days out. The Tiverton Canal is close by for a gentle walk or a boat trip. Exmoor National Park is about half an hour's drive north. The north Devon coast at places like Ilfracombe or Woolacombe is also within about forty minutes.
What's here: parking for one car right outside, WiFi, a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them. All bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
If you're planning to explore, the Exmoor National Park site is useful for walking routes. For local history, National Trust Devon has details of their properties nearby.
