This is Kingfisher Lodge, out at East Dunster Deer Farm near Cadeleigh. It's detached, so you're on your own. It looks over a couple of ponds and the deer fields. The view is just fields and hills, really peaceful.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's finished to a high standard. Underfloor heating, big bi-fold doors that open the living area right up.
There's a private hot tub on the patio. The garden is fenced, but the ponds aren't, so just be aware if you've got small kids or dogs. You'll see the red deer from the farm, sometimes right up close. Otters in the ponds if you're lucky.
You get up to the property on an unmade farm track, about 100 yards from the main road. It's fine for normal cars.
The local pub is about half a mile away in the village, they do food. The nearest proper shop is in Tiverton, about six miles.
Tiverton's got supermarkets and the Tiverton Canal is there if you fancy a walk or a boat trip. Bickleigh Mill is close by, nice for a stroll and a coffee. Exeter is about nine miles for a bigger day out, cathedral, shops, that sort of thing.
You're about a 30-minute drive from the edge of Exmoor for walking. The north Devon coast, for beaches like Woolacombe or Croyde, is about an hour's drive.
Facilities: it's got pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
